NYAC Imo State condemns the level of insecurity currently witnessed in the State, Southeast.

The leadership of the Nigerian Youth Ambassadors Commune (NYAC), Imo State Chapter recently made a press release condemning the level of insecurity and criminality prevalent in the State and South East in general.

The press release which was signed by the State Public Relations Officer of the organization, Comr. Felixson Temple Ihechukwu, while decrying on the level of drawback the societal menace has caused the State, also used the medium to charge the relevant government agencies to wade into the issue with all sense of decorum, equally enjoined the Youths to shun all criminal activities and join hands with the government towards paving way for peace.

The leadership of the Nigerian Youth Ambassadors Commune (NYAC) Imo State Chapter has decried on the spate of insecurity, wanton killings and destruction of valuable properties in the State and across the SouthEast. 

The State Chairman of the youth body, Evang. (Amb.) Nonso Iheanyi, noted that it was no longer a fabricated makeshift that the state of insecurity in the SouthEast and Imo State in particular has become so alarming and unbearable.
 
The entire Southeast have been choked with numerous violent and criminal activities in recent time, which has continued to drawback the region in various ways. 

To this effect, the leadership of the organization, seizes this medium to condemn in totality the criminal activities of unleashing mayhem and violent attacks on the citizens and Government security personnel and their facilities in the SouthEast, particularly in Orlu, Okigwe and some parts of Owerri, all in Imo State.

The Nigerian Youth Ambassadors Commune, NYAC which is the umbrella body of over 700,000 Nigerian Youths, through her Imo State Chairman who doubles as the National Secretary General of the organization, Evang.(Amb.) Nonso Iheanyi called on all stakeholders in the SouthEast to rise to the challenge of the moment, drop their differences and come together on the bid to suggesting a sustainable solution geared at nipping this societal menace at the bud.

He maintained that violence means no good in any society as it kills the fabrics of development and as such, must not be allowed to become the order of the day in the land.

The State Chairman therefore used the moment to call on the Youths to shun all forms of usage as instruments of violence and criminality within and outside Imo State, while beckoning on them to join the fight against insecurity in the State by providing security agencies with useful information on suspected criminal activities of any kind.

NYAC Imo State also used the medium to call on all the Government agencies and paraphernalia responsible for the maintenance of peace and order to work hard and in line with the provisions of the law towards restoring and maintaining complete peace in the region. 

The State Chairman reiterated on the unflinching commitment and support of the entire members of Nigerian Youth Ambassadors Commune, Imo State in assisting the Government and relevant security agencies in the curbing of the security menace that has bewildered the State and region, while noting also that the security of our land is a collective responsibility and thus all hands must be on deck in restoring absolute peace to the SouthEast and own dear Imo State in particular.

The group cited some of the atrocious killings, beheadings, kidnappings, destruction and vandalization of private and public properties in different parts of the State and opined that such acts are not in the linage of Ndi-Igbo, thereby terming such as barbaric and highly unacceptable. 

The organization therefore prayed for the peace of the State and SouthEast in general as only with complete peace can development of the Southeast be achieved.
