BREAKING: Custom Officer, son, 4 others missing as Bandits attack Kaduna housing estate

 Suspected bandits have kidnapped a Customs Officer, his son and four others in an attack carried out at a low-cost housing estate at Kofar Gayan in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

The ugly incident which left the housing estate in disarray was said to have occurred at about 8 pm on Wednesday.

A resident giving an account of how the attack was perpetrated said when the suspected bandits arrived, they started shooting sporadically. They moved straight to the Customs officer’s residence and thereafter took him away along with his son.

According to the source, the bandits trailed him from his family house in Zaria city down to the estate. Four others within the estate were later abducted by the gunmen.

The incident which is yet to be confirmed by the police is coming two days after an attack was carried out by suspected bandits on a Kaduna-Abuja bound train where eight people were killed, 26 injured, Kaduna State and several others in the northwest and north-central regions have suffered from banditry in recent years.

The government prior to this time has promised to tackle insecurity issues across the country so that citizens can move freely without fear.

There was mild drama on Thursday during the inauguration of Prof Charles Soludo as Governor when Willie Obiano’s wife Ebelechukwu and Bianca Ojukwu engaged in a fight.
